Long Time No Posty

I don't even know where to begin. I haven't blogged since Father's Day. June? WOW! Let's see. In July we became pregnant, so we are now expecting our second child! Very exciting! Just found out it's a boy too! Oh, speaking of boys, July is when my brother and sister-in-law brought their baby home from Taiwan. Lachlan is my newest nephew and he is such a sweetie! My brother's family have moved back here, so we have been able to have some nice family gatherings. For the last 6 years we've been spread out across the globe. It's good to have them back for a bit! This is baby boy Storey below, due March 28th, 2009.

In August we went to Canada and visited my mom and dad up at the lake. We had a very good time. I always love going back home for a visit. My parents would look after Caitlin in the evenings, so we were able to go out a few times with my friends. Mostly, we would sit around the camp fire. Caitlin went out in a canoe for the first time. A true Canadian! The little boy in this photo belongs to a friend of a friend...

September, my friend Donna and her cousin came to visit. I don't have any photos of that trip. Donna always spoils Caitlin! Caitlin ended up with some nice new toys and books and received a lot of attention from Donna. I had a great time, because I was able to be a tourist in my own town and do fun girl stuff.

My parents came to visit us during October. We had my brother and his family over, so it was our first time all together in 6 years or so. I don't have a photo. I haven't been taking many photos lately. Don't know why. This October was Caitlin's second Halloween, but the first time she's been out trick-or-treating. She lasted 6 houses! The daycare had a party that day, so I think she was just plain tired out! We had her dressed like a bee and a butterfly! Our friends Kathy and Chris gave Caitlin the bee outfit, which she just loves! The butterfly outfit was from last year, but we used it at night because it was a little cold outside.

Well, i think that's enough blog for one night. Maybe in 6 months I'll post again! ;) Just kiddin'! I hope to blog more often. I've moved the computer to a more comfortable location.

Father's Day

Last weekend, for Father's Day, Steve took Caitlin to visit his father. I had the weekend to myself. Yes, it was more like a Mother's Day gift! Anyway, Steve, his dad and Caitlin all went to the zoo. He said they had a great time and I had a great rest!

Caitlin and her Grandpa Clark

Caitlin pointing at the elephant's eye. It's her new thing. She loves pointing at her own head, eyes, and nose and also pointing at ours. We have to watch her 'cause she'll poke us in the eye! She even lifted up my shirt in the grocery store to point at my belly button. AH!

This photo is classic Caitlin! Nose running, tongue sticking out, and mischief written all over her face!

Swimming Lessons

I cropped myself out of these photos. My face had the look of fear and it was not attractive. Don't want the world to see me in a bathing suit either! Maybe next year I'll have lost the weight from having a baby. I suppose since it's been over a year I can't use that excuse, but I'm going to anyway!

You see how so NOT scared she looks. She is so adventurous! She pushes me away and tries to roll on her back. Gosh I love this kid! She cracks me up daily!

While we're on the subject of no fear of water, this is what I was the most shocked by. Caitlin ran into this fountain. Steve chased her and is holding her back from the strong rushing water coming out of the fountain. It was ice cold water, but she did not want to be taken out of it! She's making that face, because she's mad at Steve for not letting her go.

Spoiled!

So, I don't know if people actually read my blog anymore, since I rarely post anything. Hopefully they do!

A couple of weeks ago I looked after my friend's child and she had a pair of crocs, which are the latest shoe fad. I swore I'd never buy any! They look like gardening shoes! Caitlin loved them! She would not give the little girl her crocs back, so I ended up caving in and buying her some of her own. Here they are:

Well, at least they look cute on her. She gets all sorts of complements!

Here she is in a dress my uncle Collin and his wife gave to her. I put her in it for her swimming lessons. It's a great beach dress too! Caitlin takes swimming lessons every Saturday. It was my hope that she would learn not to be such a wild child in the water. She has no fear! So far, she just does her own thing during the lesson. That's ok. It was worth a try!

First Trip to Disneyworld!

We went to Disney (Caitlin's first time seeing it) a couple of weeks ago with our neighbor's Emi and Matt, and their sons Jack (3 years old) and Quinn (1 year old). It was a little difficult with a one year old. We'd take the transportation to the parks, go on three rides, and then have to go back to the hotel for nap time. I didn't bring a reclining stroller, which probably would have helped. It was still nice to go on vacation and Caitlin had some great times in the pool and exploring the hotel room. I also was able to see my friend Donna, as well as her husband Gerald and son David. We've been friends for 14 years, so it was great to catch up and see eachother in Orlando again.

We went on the dumbo ride, but she was more fascinated with my bracelet. She did like the "It's a Small World" ride. When she's around 4 I'm sure we'll go again. We love Disney!

Emi and Quinn on the bus to Magic Kingdom

Steve and Caitlin on the bus to Magic Kingdom. Something interesting to note is that Caitlin is wearing a Disney outfit that I bought from Walmart before I left. It was cheap too! When I looked at Disney upon arrival, I was glad I had purchased this outfit because their was nothing! Seriously! Nothing! The largest baby size was 9 months and then the next size available was 3T. Disney is missing out! I thought they tried to get everyone's money however they could, but apparantly not!

Caitlin's First Hair Cut

Better late than never?

Well, here's the first hair cut photos that I took a month ago. It's been awhile since I've had the time to post something, but I'm at home right now while new bathroom vinyl is being installed, so here it is!

I was all nervous about Caitlin's first hair cut, but they say nothing goes as you expect and they're right! Caitlin did not cry at all. She made faces, but didn't cry. She was really good! I think it helped that we went to a place that is for kids. She got to sit in a pink car that had a steering wheel and a big mirror in front to look at herself. In case my nephew is reading this, they have cars and planes for both girls and boys! Although, Grandpa tells me that Callum goes to a place for big boys and adults and is extremely well behaved when he gets his hair cut!

Here are the photos.

Ok, so now that I see the photos I'm guessing that the pacifier might have helped the non-crying thing!

The Strep Family

I've been blogless lately, because I came down with a good case of strep throat. Caitlin just got diagnosed with it today. No fun! Steve's decided to go to the doctor tomorrow, because it's probably inevitable and we've got vacation coming up! We're all going to Disneyworld on Thursday. I'll need advice from my sister-in-law about going to Disney with an infant. I think she's done it at least 3 times! What I'm nervous about is the 7 hour drive. :( Other than that, I'm extremely excited.
Blog to come is Caitlin's first haircut! True bloggers take photos! Although, I guess I'm kind of slack, because I don't feel like posting them today. I'm sleepy, Caitlin's napping, so it's time to take my nap!

To The Beach Again

I'm sure I'll have many a beach post this summer. It was a gorgeous day today, so we took Caitlin and her friend Lauren to the beach. Caitlin is now 14 months old and Lauren is 3 years old. They were both fearless when it came to running in the water, so we spent a lot of time chasing after them. Steve, myself, and Steve's dad Clark went with the two girls to the beach. Lauren's mom and I switch taking both the kids once a month, so it gives us a morning off. Well, it depends how that morning is used, but it's supposed to be a morning off! Here's the photos!

I bought her this hat, because it ties around the neck and she can't get it off. Although, I don't think she tried to get this one off. Maybe she knew she couldn't. I'd like to sew a band on the hat that matches her bathing suit, but I'm not a big sewing fan. I wish I was. I have 5 suits for work that need to be hemmed and they've been in my closet for 2 months!

Happy Beach Face

Catilin playing in the water. This is a little pool of ocean water that is just before the ocean. I'm sure there's a name for that, but I don't know it! What she loved the most was standing in the ocean and letting the waves push her backwards. The water was ice cold, but she loved it!

This is Lauren telling me that she doesn't want her photo taken. We got 2 photos of her running away.

WOO HOO!!!

Steve and I got tickets to see The Dave Matthews band play July 4th at the baseball stadium in Charleston. WE ARE TOO COOL FOR WORDS!!! It's going to be a blast!
The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the traffic. :( BOOOOOO!!!
Wonder if I'll be able to find a sitter....

At The Beach - Father and Daughter

I had surgery last week, so my parents came to help Steve take care of Caitlin and I, while I recouperated from the surgery. THANKS MOM AND DAD!!! I was in bed until yesterday with severe headaches. Not so fun! Everyday get's better though and I was very grateful to have my parents here. While they were here, my dad and Steve took Caitlin to the beach. Here are some great photos my dad took. Looks like a fun day out!

The surgery today went fine! Caitlin was in and out in less than a half hour. She was very upset when she awoke from the surgery, but by the time we got home she was up to her old shannanigans. That being, playing in the fireplace, digging dirt out of our plants, climbing into cabinets, etc. You would never know she had anything done this morning!

Since I haven't blogged in so long, I have a few pictures to post. Here are the one's from the themed birthday party we went to for our friend Jim. It was a casino 1928 themed party. We had a great time playing blackjack. I won BIG! However, it was just for fun.

Steve playing black jack. I just love the fake moustache, but not enough to have him grow one!

Here's Steve and I all dressed up and ready to go. I'm fairly sure the babysitter wanted to go to a themed Casino party after she saw us getting ready to go. She said it looked like fun and so it was!
This past weekend Steve took Caitlin to his friend John's house. They have 6 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a bird. Needless to say, that is Caitlin heaven! She was not afraid of the horses and Steve said he kept having to pull her away from them. I got to stay at home and do errands. Also, I got my hair done. Linda's heaven!

Caitlin making friends with the horse. This child has no fear!

Caitlin practising on the saddle. Steve said he had to pull her off and that she started crying, because she did not want to get off of it. I think we have a rider folks!

If mommy was on this trip do you think this photo would ever have occured? NO WAY! What was hubby thinking putting a 1 year old on a huge horse? This was not a pony!

Tubes Tomorrow

Caitlin will have tubes put in her ears at 7:30 am tomorrow. I'm hoping I'm doing the right thing. I just want her to feel good and hear properly. Please all pray for my little girl tomorrow. I'm sure she'll be fine, but it never hurts, right?!

Tired Out Mommy

Here's a little update. Caitlin has had 5 ear infections since mid-December, so we finally went to an Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist today. This after visiting her pediatrician 3 times last week. Well, sure enough Caitlin needs tubes in her ears. The surgery will be next Tuesday, March 11th. I think Tuesday is the 11th? I'll post the results of the surgery next week.

On a happier note, Steve and I have been quite the social butterfly's this past week. We went to see Lord of the Dance on Tuesday and LOVED IT! We now want to go see more shows when they come in to Charleston, which I think is rare. We also went to a 1928 themed Casino Party. That was a great time. I learned how to play black jack and won big time! Unfortunately, it was just for fun and no real money was won. We did win two door prizes! I have photos of us all dressed up, but I'll have to post later when I have more time and energy.

Party Weekend

In the old days if I had said "Party Weekend" it would have meant that I went downtown to the clubs for some drinks and dancing. Now, this means that we went to two birthday parties. On Saturday night we went to a one year old's party and tonight we went to a three year old's party. Very fun! Saturday was an Oyster Roast at my friend Michelle L's house. Her daughter Megan turned one. Tonight, my friend (and my boss) Cathy had a party for her 3 year old daughter Lauren. It was a Princess Party. We had a fun filled weekend with all this partying.

Caitin and Birthday Girl Megan! Check out the man sleeping in the background. Funny!

Dinner time! This was precious and I wish I took more photos. They were all stealing food from the poor girl, Griffin, in the middle. Megan was taking pasta from the little girl in the middle and then when she had cake in front of her Caitlin was stealing her cake. They are all 1 year olds!

Everyone at the party was telling me she'll be walking soon. Time will tell!

This girl watched Caitlin at the party the entire night! She loved playing with Caitlin. It was nice for Steve and I to be able to socialize and roam around, so we were very appreciative. Caitlin has changed so much. She used to be scared off all strangers. Now, she's jumping out of my arms to be held by anyone with a friendly face! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEGAN!

This photo is from the party tonight. I didn't take many photos. Tired out from all this partying! Caitlin was wearing a party dress, but we put her in PJ's before we went home. That's her and I in the background. Caitlin had a blast playing with Lauren. She's really starting to become a little girl now. She was chasing (via crawling) this 3 year old around the house and squealing the entire time. Very funny! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN!

Happy 1st Birthday Caitlin

Caitlin turned one on Monday, February 4th. Monday was a work day, so we celebrated on Sunday. Super Bowl Sunday! My friend Michelle who was throwing a Super Bowl party permitted me to have a mini-Caitlin celebration too, which was very kind of her. Her daughter Sophia is Caitlin's buddy...well...they will be! I ordered a cake from Publix and they gave me a bonus little cake. AWESOME! So, we had a celebration with just the family (Steve's dad was in town) before we went to the other party.

She's going to hate me for this, isn't she!

What is this? This is the bonus cake mommy got for FREE!

Mmmmmm....

Her Birthday Present. A Whinnie the Pooh train. A very loud train!

Her little party. Notice the mylar Super Bowl balloon? I bought her that. She needs to get used to the Super Bowl being around her birthday sometimes.

This was the cake I ordered from Publix, unaware that they'd give me a bonus one too! SWEET!

I Love Zagna!

This picture says it all!

Shy Lasagna face!

Caitlin eating cheerios at daycare. If I drop her off late and put her in her highchair, all the babies crowd around her and eat her cheerios. I have got to get a photo of that, 'cause it is hilarious! Also, they usually have just eaten their own.

This is a picture of Caitlin's crib at daycare. I used to be sad about this, but then I peaked in on her one day and she was playing with the girl in the crib next to her after nap time. They were giving eachother hugs and patting eachother on the head. Sooo Cute!

Happy Birthday Bri!

Today was my brother's birthday, so we took him to Stickey Fingers for dinner and met up with a bunch of our friends. I kept telling everyone he was 30, because that would make me 27! Some people believed it...I think...I hoped?

Brian, Josh, and Jolee

People of all ages came to celebrate! That's Deb and her son Mason. Jason's in the background.

Rhiney, Jim, and Richard

The Gang! Steve was at dinner, but for some reason he wasn't in this photo. Bathroom break perhaps? Kristyn is the 37 week pregnant female on the left. She's been on bed rest, because the baby has been trying to arrive early. She was just taken off bed rest today! Do you know how freaked we all were that she was going to go into labor while at the restaurant?! CRAZY! Although, it's a good day for Birthdays, just ask my brother!

Lemon swirl cake and Blackforest Cake. Gotta have two cakes! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN!!!

On another note, last night we went to an engagement party and I took a great photo of Caitlin enjoying some melba toast. Thus, I must post it here!
