Father's Day

Last weekend, for Father's Day, Steve took Caitlin to visit his father. I had the weekend to myself. Yes, it was more like a Mother's Day gift! Anyway, Steve, his dad and Caitlin all went to the zoo. He said they had a great time and I had a great rest!

Caitlin and her Grandpa Clark

Caitlin pointing at the elephant's eye. It's her new thing. She loves pointing at her own head, eyes, and nose and also pointing at ours. We have to watch her 'cause she'll poke us in the eye! She even lifted up my shirt in the grocery store to point at my belly button. AH!

This photo is classic Caitlin! Nose running, tongue sticking out, and mischief written all over her face!

Swimming Lessons

I cropped myself out of these photos. My face had the look of fear and it was not attractive. Don't want the world to see me in a bathing suit either! Maybe next year I'll have lost the weight from having a baby. I suppose since it's been over a year I can't use that excuse, but I'm going to anyway!

You see how so NOT scared she looks. She is so adventurous! She pushes me away and tries to roll on her back. Gosh I love this kid! She cracks me up daily!

While we're on the subject of no fear of water, this is what I was the most shocked by. Caitlin ran into this fountain. Steve chased her and is holding her back from the strong rushing water coming out of the fountain. It was ice cold water, but she did not want to be taken out of it! She's making that face, because she's mad at Steve for not letting her go.

Spoiled!

So, I don't know if people actually read my blog anymore, since I rarely post anything. Hopefully they do!

A couple of weeks ago I looked after my friend's child and she had a pair of crocs, which are the latest shoe fad. I swore I'd never buy any! They look like gardening shoes! Caitlin loved them! She would not give the little girl her crocs back, so I ended up caving in and buying her some of her own. Here they are:

Well, at least they look cute on her. She gets all sorts of complements!

Here she is in a dress my uncle Collin and his wife gave to her. I put her in it for her swimming lessons. It's a great beach dress too! Caitlin takes swimming lessons every Saturday. It was my hope that she would learn not to be such a wild child in the water. She has no fear! So far, she just does her own thing during the lesson. That's ok. It was worth a try!

First Trip to Disneyworld!

We went to Disney (Caitlin's first time seeing it) a couple of weeks ago with our neighbor's Emi and Matt, and their sons Jack (3 years old) and Quinn (1 year old). It was a little difficult with a one year old. We'd take the transportation to the parks, go on three rides, and then have to go back to the hotel for nap time. I didn't bring a reclining stroller, which probably would have helped. It was still nice to go on vacation and Caitlin had some great times in the pool and exploring the hotel room. I also was able to see my friend Donna, as well as her husband Gerald and son David. We've been friends for 14 years, so it was great to catch up and see eachother in Orlando again.

We went on the dumbo ride, but she was more fascinated with my bracelet. She did like the "It's a Small World" ride. When she's around 4 I'm sure we'll go again. We love Disney!

Steve and Caitlin on the bus to Magic Kingdom. Something interesting to note is that Caitlin is wearing a Disney outfit that I bought from Walmart before I left. It was cheap too! When I looked at Disney upon arrival, I was glad I had purchased this outfit because their was nothing! Seriously! Nothing! The largest baby size was 9 months and then the next size available was 3T. Disney is missing out! I thought they tried to get everyone's money however they could, but apparantly not!

Caitlin's First Hair Cut

Better late than never?

Well, here's the first hair cut photos that I took a month ago. It's been awhile since I've had the time to post something, but I'm at home right now while new bathroom vinyl is being installed, so here it is!

I was all nervous about Caitlin's first hair cut, but they say nothing goes as you expect and they're right! Caitlin did not cry at all. She made faces, but didn't cry. She was really good! I think it helped that we went to a place that is for kids. She got to sit in a pink car that had a steering wheel and a big mirror in front to look at herself. In case my nephew is reading this, they have cars and planes for both girls and boys! Although, Grandpa tells me that Callum goes to a place for big boys and adults and is extremely well behaved when he gets his hair cut!

Here are the photos.

Ok, so now that I see the photos I'm guessing that the pacifier might have helped the non-crying thing!

The Strep Family

I've been blogless lately, because I came down with a good case of strep throat. Caitlin just got diagnosed with it today. No fun! Steve's decided to go to the doctor tomorrow, because it's probably inevitable and we've got vacation coming up! We're all going to Disneyworld on Thursday. I'll need advice from my sister-in-law about going to Disney with an infant. I think she's done it at least 3 times! What I'm nervous about is the 7 hour drive. :( Other than that, I'm extremely excited.
Blog to come is Caitlin's first haircut! True bloggers take photos! Although, I guess I'm kind of slack, because I don't feel like posting them today. I'm sleepy, Caitlin's napping, so it's time to take my nap!

To The Beach Again

I'm sure I'll have many a beach post this summer. It was a gorgeous day today, so we took Caitlin and her friend Lauren to the beach. Caitlin is now 14 months old and Lauren is 3 years old. They were both fearless when it came to running in the water, so we spent a lot of time chasing after them. Steve, myself, and Steve's dad Clark went with the two girls to the beach. Lauren's mom and I switch taking both the kids once a month, so it gives us a morning off. Well, it depends how that morning is used, but it's supposed to be a morning off! Here's the photos!

I bought her this hat, because it ties around the neck and she can't get it off. Although, I don't think she tried to get this one off. Maybe she knew she couldn't. I'd like to sew a band on the hat that matches her bathing suit, but I'm not a big sewing fan. I wish I was. I have 5 suits for work that need to be hemmed and they've been in my closet for 2 months!

Happy Beach Face

Catilin playing in the water. This is a little pool of ocean water that is just before the ocean. I'm sure there's a name for that, but I don't know it! What she loved the most was standing in the ocean and letting the waves push her backwards. The water was ice cold, but she loved it!

This is Lauren telling me that she doesn't want her photo taken. We got 2 photos of her running away.
